Historic Lime Kiln at Shap
An early 19th Century Lime Kiln at Shap, Cumbria. Built with Snecked drystone rubble walls with visible quoins on battered sides and stands 25 ft high. The central segment-headed hearth is 8 ft wide. An earth ramp leads to the top and a track through the field from the bottom.
