Golgotha and the House of Michael

The House of Michael, Lalibela (13th Century): A wonderful, atmospheric, Christian church carved out of solid rock.

The 13th rock hewn Church of Golgotha in Lalibela has seven life sized saints carved into arched niches, more typical of the 15th century in style, with the expressive folds in their clothes.
